5: The Archangel

(Other Names: Archie, Coda, Sanctuary, Hourless, Piper, Azrael, Samael, Triangle Man, The Fleshless King, Elder, Yahoel, The Devil, Fossil-Type HADES, The Angel of Chaos, Uriel, Seraphim, Demiurge, The Walrus, The Ecclesiarchway, Choronzon, Prince of the Afterlife, Master Dullahan, Demiurge, The Ferryman, Holy Roller, The Fallen, The Last Prophet, Timor Angelus, Pale Horse, The Great Master of the Dead, His August Personage, The Black Abbot, The Bone King, Subject Alpha Romeo, The King Dressed in Flesh, Freak Designation Omega - ANGRA MAINYU, PRE03).

The Archangel is the fear of the afterlife, religious dogma, and all things associated around it. The Archangel is the fear of the afterlife, religious dogma, and all things associated around it. The Archangel does not have a standard form per say, but can manifest as any dead person it has absorbed (more on that latter), but it favors the form of a young human male in a full face gas mask and hoody, sometimes carrying a weapon (most of the time a rifle), though why it carrys it is unknown, due to it being an eldritch being that probably doesn't need to use mortal weapons to kill. For some reason among the runner comenity, it has come to believe that the afterlife is controlled by The Archangel. It has also been theorised, first by a diseased proxy of The Slender Man from Universe XXX (see the page on the oniverse and the nature of existence for more information) called Joseph Steward, that the exception to becoming a part of the Archangel's afterlife was to be killed by a different Fear. This, he stated, will give you nothingness instead. These theories, i am glad to say, are absolute and total nonsense and toilet funk. it is however, as with all myths, based on a grain of truth. The Archangel dose absorb the souls of those who openly and willingly (sometimes unknowingly) “embrace it”. it is much like a living universe that can manifest as any being that permanently inhabits it. The Archangel is “worshiped” by many “cults” around the world, the largest of these are a group known as the Timberwolves. its domain is itself, which is called “bliss”.

5: Aqualung

(Other Names: The White King)
Aqualung is (controversially) the Fear of loss. This is questioned due to that it shares characteristics of both The Blind Man and The Quiet(i.e: it unmakes things like the quiet, but its form is like that of the blind man’s). It is primarily concerned with the destruction of information and memory. Whatever it unmakes is so thoroughly erased from existence that it may as well have never existed. Its “physical” form is composed of an unknown substances is undetectable by any device or method, eldritch or otherwise. the form itself has the appearance a weather-beaten, haggard old man wearing brown rags. eyes and mouth are replaced with seemingly bottomless holes leading into darkness. Its domain, followers, agenda and other capabilities, are unknown. It has, however, been described as being something that even the Fears consider to be entirely alien. It is described as the end of all things, and is the enemy of all the other Fears. it has been theorised that it is really an extension of or is related to The Quiet in some way, for it has appeared when quiet cracks have appeared and has been seen entering said crack and traversing the white void behind them.

4: The Answer

(Other Names[over all]: The Choicemakers, Venture-Option-Tribulation-Euphoria, The Red and White Knights, The Abstract, The Felled Council)

The Answer are a cast of Fears that represent decisions and choice. They all have individual manifestation, but some universes they are the same being that can manipulate free will of mortals. It is unknown whether they have lived alongside the Fears or that they had been recently born into the world due to some eldritch event. Some speculate that they were spawned as living manifestations of the Crossroad of Trials, a sentient domain that trials whomever happens to be in it. The Answer consists of these four entities although there may be more, but that is very unlikely:
  1. (Other Names: The Way of the Wheel, The Die of Time, Lady Luck, Fortuna, The Wheel of Fortune, Ring of Changes, The Baroness of the Coin, Tytar Tuuri)                                                               The House of Fortune is the Fear of chance and probability. It usually manifests as a human strapped by a harnesses in the center of a large roulette wheel. The human being is a previous victim of the fear with some physical modifications (ex: eyes had been replaced with dice). Instead of the edges of the wheel being like a normal roulette wheel, they have ever changing words that say every possible chose the onlooker could make at that moment in time. It plays games of chance with people and usually works in the realm of probability. When it looks for a new victim, it stages a series of games of chance. The loser becomes the next victim.
  2. (Other Names: The Way of the Weight, The King in Stone, Atlas Eyes, The Living Statue, The Catechist, The Sleeping King)                                                                                                            The King in the Mountain is the Fear of truth. His true form is unknown, as that body is currently sleeping underneath the earth. that form is waiting to for the end of the world when he will finally awaken and be free. His avatar until then as a giant stone statue modeled after an Unknown male figure of royalty/power from Medieval period. If asked any question, he will answer the complete and utter truth, as is its nature. becos of this, it is impossible for him to lie. However, the answers will be so morbid and terrifying that most people will lose their minds due to it. Similar to Living Statues, he can only move when he isn't being observed can only move in slight increments when not. The only body part he can move while a human looks at him, are his eyes(which is very creepy in my opinion).
  3. (Other Names: The Way of the Willing, Janus, Lerna, Hydra, The Myriad, The Opener of Masks, The Keeper of Faces, Dantalion, Twelve Archetypes, Loki, Ba'al)                                                  The Unbounded Face is the Fear of indecision and manipulation. The Unbounded Face appears as entity of varying descriptions, sometimes as a head or a full body. but in all forms, the head consisting of any number of multiple faces at a time. Sometimes, It appears as hundreds, thousands, millions of faces all on an infinitely large head. The faces constantly change, morphing and melting into other faces. Some are completely blank of expression, others express only one emotion (Happiness, Sadness, Anger, etc.). It usually hunts down people who are at a breaking point in their lives.
  4. (Other Names: The Way of the Wanton, The Mistral, Zephyrym, The Bodiless Voice, The Siren, Force Majeure, Mother Nature, The Watcher in the Fog, The Vane, The Cyclone, The Grandmother of Shudders, Baba Yaga)The Woman in the Wind is the Fear of past mistakes. She usually manifests as something related to air, gas, and the atmosphere, such as a large mist, a windstorm, or a faint outline of a woman, made out of gray cloud-like gas, but she has no standard form. She specifically targets those with power and influence, and uses its control over air to ruin the victim's life before killing them. Sometimes it will repeat the last words of all of its victims, expelling their final breaths.

3: The Algernon Forest

(Other Names: Eden, Emerald Web, Pan, The Dormouse, Ninsar, Haphelia)

The Algernon Forest is the fear of regression, of going backward, and of falling behind. its basicly the anti-EAT. its a plant based hive mind(ish) that takes ofer being an makes them regrese into primitive stats, either mentally or/and physically, leading to some reports of were beings and anthropomorphic beasts. it takes over life by using seed pods, which latch onto and infect them, more noticeably animal life, as plant are only incorporated into the organism and mostly not changed(unless turned into a “prehistoric”/extinct plant), thus creating Algernon Forests, while animal life is morphed and changed in the most horribly painful and excruciating ways. it also can appear as a humanoid plant thing dubbed “The Green Man”, which manifests in large amounts of converted plant life (such as forests). Anything that encounters any of these forms of The Algernon Forest regresses, mentally or physically, as previously stated(unless you're like me, a mortal who has been the representative of the human race and another high being amount the eldritch, so that i can't be warped by these mutative eldritch bodily-boos, unless they want to die and then be torched).

3: The Great Game

The Great Game is a term used to refer to the relation between The Fears, humans, and sometimes other eldritch beings. The ultimate goal to this “game” is unknown by most mortals, and it seems that the rules are completely “incomprehensible” Humans are incapable of playing as they are in fact the pieces, being manipulated like one would manipulate the pieces of a chess or checkers board.

Certain Fears do not interfere with the Game much; if it at all. The Blind Man for example, prefers to act as an observer most of the time, while The Empty City does not participate at all but serves as a neutral meeting ground for the Fears and their Servants. but on the other side of the spectrum, The Archangel appears to take the most enjoyment in The Game. Sometimes other fears break the rules of the game, whatever its "rules" are, which leeds them to being looked in The Singularity Cell and, at least in my universe, lose most of their power. they are referred to as Fallen Fears.

In some Universe’s the Great Game has smaller portions or segments of it that are sometimes optional for the Fears to take part of. In these segments, the Fears play alongside mortals until the requirements to end the game are reached. Unlike the main game, these sometimes have rule that mortals can understand.

2: The Fears

The Fears (as they are called today) are Eldritch beings that represent and inspire human fear. they are the living incomprehensible manifestations of our darkest fears, our most horrible nightmares. the most mysterious part of their nature is that most participate in something called the The Great Game, which I'll explain later. They are worshiped as gods in many cults, and have their own servants to do their biding. They manifest in a number of different ways, differing from each universe, but all are somewhat similar in appearance. The Wooden Girl is a perfect example of this. Her most common appearances in most universe is as a female with that appears to have wooden skin or a literal female puppet with living strings wrapped around her body.
